Friday Finds: A car cooler and new auto-injector potential

By -

Happy Friday from all your friends here at Scratch or Sniff!

On Thursday afternoons our writers have a quick internet discussion about some of the best things we’ve seen that week! The result? Friday Finds!

In case you missed it! Roo wrote a great article over on the SmartyPants Vitamins blog about “What To Do When Your Family Has Food Allergies”. Be sure and check it out!

Girls - Windgap

Watch out, EpiPen: A better auto-injector for severe allergies is in the works: Boston-area startup Windgap Medical is going right up against the ubiquitous EpiPen: It’s working on a more streamlined version of the epinephrine auto-injector. “The EpiPen is the most widely used epinephrine auto-injector,  but it can be unwieldy and inconvenient for those with allergies.”

What are your thoughts on some of these new auto-injectors in the works??

Koolatron P-20 Thermo – Electric 12-Volt 18 Quart Compact Cooler/Warmer: Planning any road trips for the summer? This is AWESOME! The Koolatron 12 Volt compact cooler was specially designed to fit in those tight spaces between and behind the seats of your car, van or truck. This cooling unit plugs into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter, and can be set to keep your food up to 40 degree Fahrenheit colder than the outside temperature to cool your favorite drinks and snacks to 45 to 50 Fahrenheit degrees below the ambient temperature.

Commentary: No, your kid may not have a snack
All of us here at Scratch or Sniff gave a standing ovation when we read this article. Not just because we agree with the author, but as parents of kids with food allergies, this would make our lives SO much easier!
