I am not judging the breakfast bar. Trust me. Most mornings, I’ll be honest, my kids head to the cabinet the minute they wake (usually when I am still mid-coma) and grab a handful of cereal or a bar. I’m terrible about eating breakfast myself and usually skip it. Wouldn’t it be great if you could whip up a quick and easy breakfast that is also packed with nutrients and vitamins? I have to say, we’re sharing a pretty good one!
First we blended up a nutrient packed smoothie that even the pickiest kid should love. I started with about a cup of fruit (apples, pineapple, and banana… frozen to make it even easier) and added a tablespoon of flax meal, a handful of greens (I used kale and spinach but you can use either or both) and a cup of liquid (juice or your favorite milk.)
SmartyPants Vitamins are the perfect pair to this healthy (but sweet enough for the kids to love) smoothie. BONUS, your kids will think they are getting candy for breakfast when they are really getting a multivitamin plus omega 3 AND vitamin D in those delicious gummies!

- 1 cup frozen fruit (I used apple, pineapple and banana)
- 1 handful of spinach, kale, or both!
- 1 tbsp of flax meal (can use ground chia seeds too)
- 1 cup juice or your favorite milk (rice, almond, etc)
- Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth. Pour into cup and serve with a straw.
